After MUCH debate my Dad booked our rooms for Lynlee's wedding at the Shilo Inn.
My Dad described the Shilo Inn as a
"Three star hotel with a pool open 24/7"That was all we needed to here.
The fact that it had a continental breakfast and
was only two blocks for the Salt Lake Temple were definite bonus features.
Here is my assessment.
The pool, hot tub and sauna were awesome!
Exactly what we needed to entertain our kids.
Everyone, even grandpa loved the pool!
The hot tube was huge!
Hazel impressed us all by jumping in and going under
The pool went to 9' deep.
Total bonus!
The water was warm...
The only reason Nathan spent so much time swimming.
Ready, Set...
Jump!
As you can see we took complete advantage of the pool.
Our kids were exhaused and so were their Dads!
It was a little dated but totaly great non the less.
On the negative...
During one of the many trips down on the elevator we were "lucky" enough to ride with a Shilo Inn maintance man. Now like every kid who has ever ridden on an elevator the boys jumped when the elevator started down. The maintance man basically told Nathan and I that unless we wanted to reach the lobby smashed to slitherines we shouldn't let the boys jump because the elevator was old.
This wouldn't have been quite so disturbing if later in the week all of our kids, husbands, and Jennifer wouldn't have been trapped in the same elevator.
See Melissa's blog for the details.
