Maleen was diagnosed with a serious double ear infection the day before the Cantata.
She was still not in the best of spirits.
I think these boys could have played XBox all night.
By the looks on everyones face and the characters involved I am sure something wildly inappropriate was just said.
We had tables set up everywhere!
We have been doing a Christmas Cantata (aka Singing Extravaganza) and ornament exchange with our Tucker Family for the past 9 years. It is so fun to get together and it is really important to me that my kids know all their cousins. This year Nathan and I hosted. We ate delicious soup complements of Shelley, Nicole, Mel, Mom, and Me. Jennifer provided the most amazingly delicious assortment of breads and everyone else brought a great smattering of desserts. The kids played and played. The adults visited up a storm and then the fun began.
Melissa read us the Christmas story and we sang the Carols. Of the 40 or so people who attended the Cantata only about 4 can hold a tune (thank goodness for the Mormon Tabernacle Backup Singers) and this year Jennifer decided that the MoTab was a bit to slow for her taste so because she is one of the 4 who can carry a tune she proceeded to lead us through the songs about 5 words ahead of the CD.
Aftern we sing we do a Yankee Swap ornament exchange. It is always fun to see the funny, beautiful, and down right crazy ornaments that people bring. It is also so fun to pull them out each year.
This is such a fun night (at least I think it is) the big boys complain but they keep coming back for more so they can't hate it to bad.
