Happy Thanksgiving

I got to my parent's bright and early with Maleen. She loves this mega bucket of tinker toys although this is the first time she has actually played in the bucket.

Maleen loves anthing fancy. She nearly lost her mind over this headband.

About three years ago I asked for and received a sewing machine. I have gotten nonstop crap for it ever since. Mostly because I never used it. Well I finally used it and made these adorable outfits for Maleen and Hazel. I think they turned out rather adorable for a first project.

I love Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for. My husband, kids, parents, sisters, my grandma and the fact that Nathan is done with Pharmacy School to name just a few. If you are wondering why there is only one picture of Marcus, Fenn and Malcolm it is because Nathan gave us a little Thanksgiving miracle. He took the boys BB gun shooting before and after dinner.

2nd Place

Marcus' team had a great season. They only lost one game during the regular season. They had the #1 defense in the league and scored more points that any other team. They lost the championship game to Fernley but were pleased as punch to win 2nd place medals. I think the coaches took it harder than the kids but who can blame them with all the hours they spent working with the kids.

Happy Birthday Finally

Maleen was soooo happy to see the baby doll Marcus picked out for her.

She was not amused by the amount of time it took to get him out of the box.

But it was worth the wait.

We finally celebrated Maleen's birthday on October 30 (only a month and 10 days after her actually birthday). We were super excited that Lynlee came down for the festivities. Maleen's birthday this year was just one of those things that doesn't go smoothly from the beginning. Everything that could go wrong did from setting a date to the cake. The date was hard to set because of a lot of family stuff going on. Then I decided to make a birthday banner using Melissa's Cricket (love it). The banner did not go as planned kept flipping over when I tried to hang it. The cake, well lets just say that my origional plan was to order a topsy-turvy cake from a bakery in Reno then I got the brith idea of making one myself. I did a trial cake which I must say turned out awesome. I didn't bother to take pictures because it was so easy that I figured to real one would be twice as awesome. Not so. Lets just leave it at that. Although not beautiful to look at it did taste awesome. Dinner also turned out great. I did Cornish Game Hens stuffed with a rice stuffing (awesome). Maleen loved her gifts and her tutu. So at the end of the day who cares. The food was good the company even better and the birthday girl was happy what else matters.

Trick-or-Treat

My mom goes all out for Halloween. I think she puts more into her Halloween decorations than Christmas. The kids love it. This year I heard one little girl say, "This house is always the best one" and I have to agree.

Fenn loves a vampire and Mel and a friend made this adorable costume for him.

With a vampire for a brother what could Hazel be but a bat.

The boys had a great time trick-or-treating and got loads of candy. After going to all the houses in my parent's neighborhood we headed to Conner's football game and then did a little trunk-or-treating. It was a great night.

Pumpkin Patch

Marcus' class went to Latin Farms to the Pumpkin Patch. I'm so glad I got to go.

Happy Fall...

Hazel can work up crocodile tears like no other

We had a beautiful Fall in Fallon. Me and Mel decided to take advantage of her mother-in-laws amazing yard and took some adorable pictures of the girls and Fenn (sorry, Marcus was in school). Fenn and Hazel were not that into it but Maleen was all about posing for the camera.

I Love You Ra...

She's 1

I'm not sure what she was more afraid of the fire or our singing.
If I had to guess I would say our singing.

Maleen loves a sweet treat and she wasn't afraid to dig right in.

Maleen turned 1 while we were in Utah. We got her a little cake to mark the occasion. We don't know how we ever got along without our sweet little Jelly Bean.

Maleen and Hazel got very tired of the wedding shopping. One afternoon we took them to the park for a couple of hours to just play. I know I am bias but these two are absolutely adorable. They already love each other.

By the end of the trip the babies just wanted it to end.

Lynlee is getting married and we are so happy. We absolutely love Steve. Soooo, in the middle of September we went into Utah to do a little wedding planning and of course we started with the dress. We also managed to nail down a venue while we were there. None of these feets were easy as Lynlee is the biggest tight a$% to ever plan a wedding. (We love you Lyn)

This was a stressful time for our family and despite the worry we managed to laugh and find joy together. I am blessed to have such amazing women in my family. I always say that I don't need friends because I have five sister and a Mom who are my best friends. I know not everyone feels this way about their siblings and parnets, I know how lucky I am.
